Your phone first. A friend only if it keeps going.

Every alarm reaches you, whether or not the app is open. If it is still going five minutes later and you have not tapped "I've got it", it reaches the friend you named โ€” because your phone is the one furthest from the boat. A dragging anchor skips the wait. A hose on a sensor never wakes anyone but you.

  • You choose who: friends you have added, and only the ones you mark as notifiable. Nobody sees your boat because they happen to share a marina.
  • It works on the free plan: Free carries 10 friends and fans an alarm out to one of them; Dockside has unlimited friends and still reaches one. Weekender and Voyager reach up to five.
  • They see what matters: what tripped, when, and where the boat is โ€” not your account, your billing, or your other boats.
  • Crew sharing is the deeper kind: share the boat itself with up to 5 crew members on Weekender (10 on Voyager), with three roles โ€” full admin, monitor and control, or view-only. Your neighbor can check on the boat without being able to open the water.

Water where it shouldn't be

High water is the failure every boat eventually meets โ€” rain past a failed cover, a weeping stuffing box, a pump that quietly lost the battle. The alert is on your phone the second water shows up.

  • Nothing in the way: each sensor reports straight to DockNeighbor โ€” no vendor hub in the middle to be the weak link, no third-party cloud to go down at the wrong moment.
  • Free on every plan: bilge and flood alarm delivery is immediate on Free and always will be. Alarms are never behind the paywall.
  • On city water, it acts: a dock hose is unlimited pressurized water one fitting away. On a paid plan with a LinkTap valve, a flood alarm closes the valve automatically โ€” locally on your network, and from the cloud when you're away.
  • Real-time flow metering: see how many gallons are moving through your plumbing, and set a ceiling so a runaway line shuts itself off.

Still where you left it

DockNeighbor watches where the boat is, whether it has moved, and whether anyone is aboard โ€” using the GPS already in your cellular gateway, so there's no extra hardware to buy.

  • Anchor alarm, free on every plan: set a swing radius and you hear about a drag โ€” in the app aboard, and from the cloud with the app closed. Your neighbors hear about it too.
  • Away Mode: tell DockNeighbor whether the boat is Aboard, Away or at Anchor, and alerting changes with it โ€” movement that's normal at the dock becomes worth waking someone for when nobody's there. Choose Away and, if the boat leaves where you left it, you know. (Away is Dockside and up.)

Power, shore power, and cold

A dead battery is a dead bilge pump. Lose the 12V system and you lose the pump, the fridge, and your safety electronics โ€” usually without anyone noticing until it matters.

  • Precision voltage tracking: graph house and starter banks over time and catch deep discharge early, with chemistry presets.
  • Shore power status: know the instant a marina pedestal drops AC โ€” the failure that quietly ends charging and refrigeration for a whole dock at a time.
  • Climate awareness: temperature and humidity, so a coming freeze or a failed fridge is a warning rather than a spring surprise.
  • Reliable hardware: built on the low-power Shelly Plus Uni and Shelly PM Mini Gen3.

Works aboard, with or without internet

Off-grid, your alarms shouldn't fall apart just because there's no signal. DockNeighbor runs on your own network first.

  • Instant aboard: on the boat's own Wi-Fi, readings and taps are immediate โ€” internet optional.
  • Seamless away: step off the dock and the app follows you, with the same view of the boat.
  • The marina Wi-Fi dying doesn't take your alarms with it.

History that tells the story

A single reading says "fine." A week of readings says "your charger is slowly losing the battle."

  • On-device history, always free: water usage and events are recorded on your device on every plan.
  • Kept for you: hosted history you can see from anywhere, on every plan โ€” 1 year on Free, 2 years on Dockside, 3 years on Weekender at ~30-second resolution, and 5 years on Voyager.
  • CSV export: Weekender and Voyager export your history for spreadsheets, insurance, or your own analysis.

The hardware is the cheap part

Off-the-shelf sensors you buy once and own โ€” no marine-priced black boxes, no rented hardware.
